West Lodge Rural Centre is the ideal place to bring groups of school children, right through from nursery age, KS1 and even up to A' Level studies. We are the first farm park nationally under the CEVAS Farm Accreditation Scheme to gain our certificate assuring both high quality and high standards in educational school trips.
West Lodge is a family run working farm which regularly hosts school visits and meets all health and safety requirements. The centre is a leading member of the National Association of Farms for Schools. Our guides have a wide range of tours accommodating groups from reception and KS1 through to A Level; they offer a range of specialities including agriculture, ecology, conservation and local history.
A typical day trip could involve a guided tour in the morning with perhaps a spot of pond dipping for older children and the afternoon, at your leisure, to explore our two and a half miles of walks and sculpture trails, handle the animals in Cuddle Corner and enjoy our indoor and outdoor play areas and tractor park.
We can tailor your day to suit your educational and recreational needs. We suggest all teachers come for a pre-visit inspection which helps us match our guidelines and tours to your needs; we also provide a risk assessment for your records.
